It really doesn't matter what type of business you are creating, teamwork will be the foundation for your success. The very essence of that success or failure, will be dependent upon your team. Every team needs to be focused on the same goal(s), that, being the success and growth of the business. Each individual should be mindful of their assigned responsibilities within the team. Some important functions to be mindful of are:
attaining the personal tasks you've been assigned
goal setting & meeting or exceeding the specified deadlines
be mindful of others, everyone doesn't move or learn at the same pace, patience & encouragement
follow the leadership and the plans they've set into motion (whether you agree or not)
As I was reading and researching "teamwork" one thing that did stick out in my memory was quite simply: "TEAM" T - teach E - everyone A - about M - motivation. Once each member of the team realizes their piece of the puzzle and where it actually fits, their vision will become clearer. It is a proven fact everyone working together will achieve more and are more likely to achieve their goals and even exceed them by working together. In order to have success in your business, I came across yet another interesting acronym by Maxwell Maltz (1899-1975):"SUCCESS" S - sense of direction U - understanding C - courage C - charity E - esteem S - self - confidence S - self - acceptance. For any successful business, there must be a team effort geared towards the ultimate success of the team, resulting in individual success as well. Summed up, motivation and teamwork equal success.
Some of the components to team building start with the basics, an introduction. It is important to learn each member of the team as an individual and then how they can best be used to function within the team. As it is with any unit, some people work together better than others. One weak or broken link can result in the ultimate destruction of a team. Bear in mind all teamwork building strategies don't necessarily take place within a conference room or boardroom. It is important to have an occasional change of scenery to gain a new perspective and new insights into your vision, direction and which path to take to guide you to your goal. Team building workshops, fundraisers, fun walks, race for the cure, community projects to name a few are some awesome teamwork building opportunities to further develop relationships within your team.
You've had a long and perhaps stressful day, it is important to refresh yourself. You need to literally clear and free your mind of the mundane tasks from the day, week, even months!!! Get outside, get some fresh air, take a brisk walk, stretch, deep breathing exercises are all great for the mind and body. One surefire and always successful relaxer; a long soothing soak in a hot tub (don't forget the candles, they just add that extra little oomph and help to set the relaxing ambiance). It's often the little things that make a big difference in the success or failure of your business. Keep in mind that teamwork is vital, consider it the heart that pumps the life into your business. Without it, the life of the business will fail. Connect yourself to a strong team and witness the life flourishing from within. Thanks for reading, have an amazing day!
